Berger and Ikorodu areas recently swelled the ranks of Lagos communities where students and teachers receive training in Robotics and Coding technology from Brainacs STEM And Robotics, a Dolphin Estate-based, Victoria land firm.
The company’s Business Development Manager, Miss Thessy Oddey who disclosed this to our correspondent, said no fewer than 4000 students and 500 teachers have benefitted from the training which is designed to build mental capacity and enhance technological competence in the young ones.
She added that response to the training has been encouraging which informed the company’s drive to expand the range of its products to offer schools a variety to choose from according to their budgets.
“We have premium and regular products that schools can pick in line with what they can afford. That is why we are being patronized by schools in high brow areas like Lekki and Victoria Island ad also in places like Berger and Ikorodu, to mention a few,” she explained.
Oddey said the company had been opening new frontiers for technology-based training by developing curricula and kits that can be used in teaching different educational concepts and games in addition to enhanced ICT textbooks based on the Nigerian and United Kingdom modules.
She pointed out that the idea of the book was borne out of the company’s desire to widen the appeal of its services and make them accessible to students anywhere in Lagos and other parts of the country, especially the Federal Capital Territory where it is also having a growing clientele.
However, she said the books were on sale only to schools and not private clients in order to stave off piracy.
“We are not unaware of the activities of pirates and the huge threat they pose to our textbook. So for now, we do not sell the book to individual buyers. This is one way of dealing with the possibility of the book falling into the wrong hands that can compromise the quality and mass produce it without authorization,” she adds.
The University Of Ilorin graduate of Chemical Engineering said she drew fulfillment from working with a firm that specialices in offering technology- driven training that prepares the young ones for future possibilities in a world that is fast becoming a global digital village.
