The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) Ikorodu has called on all residents to take up the responsibility of combating drug abuse in the society.
It stated that ridding the society of illicit drugs is the first dose of panacea towards eradicating crimes in the society.

This was passed across during its sensitization walk around communities in Ikorodu on Monday in collaboration with Ikorodu Entertainers association (IKEA) and Realers Initiative.
Speaking, Isiak Opeloyeru, Assistant Commander of Nacotics (ACN) stated that one of the ways residents could combat drug abuse is by not engaging in the promotion of such themselves.
He noted that the young ones who majorly indulge in the act should be able to learn from examples the older ones exhibit.
Lawal said, “Let us expose and eradicate drug dealers in our communities. Drug baron next door is like a snake in your house, any member of your household could end up being a victim.”
“As an agency at the centre stage of this crises, NDLEA Ikorodu area command is using this landmark day to charge residents across Ikorodu division to arm themselves with the proficiency about drug abuse and it’s effects.”
“We must start promoting a drug free life style for our young ones to see, providing them with good mentorship by not indirectly stimulating the use and sales of illicit drugs, let us all assist NDLEA in propagating this anti-drug abuse massages.”

Lawal assured that the agency is committed to the eradication of drugs in the community, adding that it will scale up its public crusades in the motor parks, youth centres, marketplaces and schools.
The walk saw the contingent traversed Akasolori, Benson, Sabo market and LASUSTECH.
