Residents who commute the Sabo Roundabout have decried the prevalence of robbery and extortion from hoodlums in the area.
They described the area as dangerous to commute at night, calling on the police and the Ikorodu Peace Initiative to come to their aid.
In an Ikorodu community group on Facebook, Rasheed Fatuga revealed that an elderly man was attacked and injured recently, plus his belongings carted away with.
Ayorinde Aribisogan stated that he was once a victim of an attack in broad daylight in the Sabo junction, saying that ever since then, he does not trek around that axis but rather have a tricycle take him to his destination.
He said, “I was once attacked at that sabo junction in a broad daylight.
Ever since then I’ve never trekked in that territory, I would rather take keke from garag. Very dangerous area.”
Another resident, Adio Omogbolahan Saheed stated that the hoodlums in the area are in their numbers, and once you refuse to do their bidding, they rob you.
“Wallahi, that axis is very dangerous once the weather is dark, the hoodlums are too much in the area, they will beg you to give them anything once you stop to render them assistance, before you knw then don enter you patapata..”
