The indigenes of Ikorodu and Sagamu have commended the lawmaker for the effort for the completion of the road. They continued to share the impact of the road on the economy of the region.
Ikorodu News chatted with one of the traditional rulers in Ikorodu and he was really about the development. He said, “Ikorodu and Sagamu are the same people and this will definitely improve the lives of our people, thank you, Hon. Babajimi Benson”.
Hon. Babajimi Benson MHR, Ikorodu federal lawmaker has affirmed that the House of Representatives received official communication from Mr. President requesting for the passage of the Supplementary Budget to the existing 2022 budget at its 21st December plenary session
A cab driver based in Sagamu also shared his joy over the news, during rainy season we suffer a lot driving into Ikorodu and now we are full of hope that our journey will be quicker and safer, he shared.
According to Rep. Benson, Ikorodu-Sagamu road got an additional N5,618,295,990 in the request submitted by the President to the House of Representatives.
He continued, “Please recall that we have been in pursuit of the completion of the Ikorodu-Sagamu express road which requires funding provision in 2023”.
“Same project has been prioritised in the 2023 Sukuk bond”.
“Constituents should be assured that my colleagues and I in the House of Representatives shall expedite the passage of the Supplementary Budget before our vacation”.
The federal legislator further thanked the Honourable Minister for Works, His Excellency, Hon. Babatunde Raji Fashola for his commitment and support in ensuring the completion of the project.
