An NGO known as Lots Charity Organization has kick-started its second phase of empowering the Ajegunle Community and reducing the many plights faced by residents of the community.
In a chat with our reporter, the project officer, Salami Damilare stated that it is looking at consolidating on the achievements it recorded in the first phase.
Damilare stated that in the first phase, they were able to lobby the government towards the construction of the Ajegunle Ikorodu Community Secondary School which is currently ongoing.
He also recounted the engagement with the Lagos State Health Scheme, confirming that there is an ongoing talks with the Commission for Community Affairs on Water and Energy in the interest of the community.

Damilare said, “We are in the second phase of our Project Plan tagged Ajegunle Ikorodu Resilience Project which is designed to make low income communities resilient and empowering them on all fronts to meet basic modern urbanization demands.
‘”We are focusing on Water, Sanitation, Health, Roads and Drainages, and Security.
“The Ajiyan Water Project is also in build up for the community. So many engagements innumerable to articulate here. We are currently trying to do advocacy on the man made canal with imminent perennial flooding that may cause hardship on the people.”

He added that they are working with all stakeholders in the community including the CDAs, Baale, Women and Youth Wings to make this possible.
