“It’s another Ramadan. We thank the Almighty Allah for seeing us through. I will be celebrating with my family and friends when they come around, “Adeolu said.

Abimbola Afeez, for one, expressed excitement for the holiday and wished all Muslims a Happy Eid-el-Fitr.

“Yes, today is Ramadan. I am happy. I will be visiting friends later in the evening, taking pictures and eating as well.

Despite the fact that his shop is open, Ahmed, a trader, said he is celebrating Eid.

In commemoration with Muslims, a Lagos State House of Assembly aspirant for Ikorodu Constituency 1, Babawale Alogba, has appealed to all Muslim faithful to be forgiving, kind and compassionate.

In his goodwill message, he said, “These are the values of Islam.”

“Eid-el-Fitr is a time for forgiveness, kindness, and compassion. These qualities are the essence of Islam. Eid is a time of joy and celebration; a time to make peace with all neighbors, relatives, and friends, and resolve differences.

“This auspicious occasion provides an opportunity to rejuvenate bonds of kinship, peace, tolerance, and sympathy towards each other. It is to be hoped that the goodwill of the season will add a new impetus to our peace, reconciliation with Allah, development, and prosperity. The people of Ikorodu deserve nothing less. “

Also felicitating with Muslims was Prince Hammed Olalekan Aroyewun, a Lagos State House of Assembly aspirant for Ikorodu Constituency II, who charged all Muslims to promote peace and be generous to the needy.

“It is my prayer to Almighty Allah to accept our prayers throughout the fasting period that culminated in today’s celebration across the division, state, nation, and globe at large. “I pray that Allah sets our country on the path of development and greatness.”

The Chairman of Ikorodu-Oga Development Association (IKODASS), Rotimi Erogbogbo also felicitated with Muslims in Ikorodu as they celebrate the end of the Ramadan fasting.

Erogbogbo wished all faithfuls in the community a successful and peaceful celebration.

He prayed that the lessons of Ramadan abide, and may there be more Ramadans to witness.

“To all our Muslim ummah in Ikorodu, we wish you a very successful and peaceful celebration. May your acts of Ibadah be accepted. May your sins be forgiven. May the good lessons of Ramadan abide with us. Together we shall witness many more Ramadans in Ikorodu.”

He, however, called for collective effort towards the development of Ikorodu, asserting that prayer is not enough.
