A group of clerics have urged residents of Ikorodu to be peaceful and united to achieve sustainable developments.
They spoke on the theme: Empowerment and Impactation at the Abbercamren Global Episcopal, Ecclesiastical and Professional conference organized in Agric, Ikorodu.

One of the clerics, Bishop Ofonime Emmanuel Bassey said that the multi-ethnic nature of the society should ensure harmony and not division.
Bishop Bassey affirmed that the decision to build a developed society is one that should be taken by leadership and adopted by all.
He called on the government to look into the various issues disrupting peace and unity in the country and advocated for a dialogue to resolve prevailing issues.
“The decision to build a peaceful, united, prosperous, transformed society must be carefully taken by leadership and adopted by all.
“The government should understand that to achieve peace and unity dialogue must be adopted, so issues that are prevailing get resolved. The notion of the unity of the country being non-negotiable must be reviewed. There is a need to come to the roundtable and have aggrieved parties discuss grievances so as to get them resolve and abort breeding disgruntled groups in the country,” he said.

The visionary of the group, Archbishop Godspower Genvopri who reeled out fourteen areas of empowerment stated that the only way to achieving them is via peace and unity.
He listed the areas of empowerment as individual, gender, physical, psychological, political, educational, social, economic, community, organizational, cultural, sexual, general and spiritual empowerment.
