Three siblings die in parked car in Ikorodu

Three children of same parents have been confirmed dead in a car they reportedly were playing packed at the Owode Elede area of Ikorodu.

The children identified as Oliseh,3, Daniel,6 and Destiny Egba, 8 were said to have suffocated in a parked Hyundai Accent car with registration number BDG404CL on Thursday evening.

It was, however, uncertain how long they were in the car before their bodies were found.

According to a source, it was some visitors of the owner of the car who discovered their bodies in the car.

“No one knew they were inside the vehicle. It was some visitors who came to see the owner while looking at the vehicle that discovered them.

“When their bodies were brought out around 7pm, their mother was not back from the market.

“Neigbours did not have her telephone number, so police had to wait until she returned home around 11:30pm to break the news to her.

“Apparently, the children were not in the care of anyone else. The person in charge of them would have looked for them before their mother returned from the market,: a source said.

Police spokesman, Benjamin Hundeyin confirmed the incident, stating that the police got the information around 7pm on Thursday evening.

He said the detectives immediately arrived the scene, secured it for investigation and moved the bodies to the mortuary.
