Ikorodu City FC fought to a 1-1 draw away to Campos FC at the Dan Anyiam Stadium, Owerri, on Matchday 11 of the Nigeria Nationwide League (NNL).
The Oga Boys took the lead in the 30th minute of the game from a set piece converted by Gabriel Adewala.
But the hosts would rally back before half-time to draw level in the 43rd minute of the game.
Chances fell to both sides in the second half, but none could find the back of the net as the game ended 1-1.
Reacting to the draw, supporters of the club seemed to agree that one point on the road is better than losing it all, even though three points would have elevated the team in the standings.
One of the supporters, Muiz Kalejaiye, said, “It’s a good result. Do you know how far away results can be in Nigeria? At least they didn’t draw. Kudos to the boys. Let them put in more effort in subsequent games. “
For Victor Adediran, “They can do better than this. I was really looking forward to a win. But the point is not bad. “
“I think this is progress. We just need to be clinical away from home and make sure we have the right tactics in the next away game, “Samuel Omikola opined.”
Ikorodu City FC sits seventh on the log, having accumulated 14 points from 11 games.
