A first half goal for Ikorodu City FC and a second half equalizer from Campos FC saw both teams settle for a 1-1 draw today at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos.
Gabriel Adewala, the long range free-kick specialist, who scored his side’s lone goal away to the same opponent in Owerri drew first blood for his side in similar fashion in the 41st minute of the game.
Back from the halftime break in leading position, John Amah, the Oga Boys goalkeeper was caught off his line and got punished for it as Campos FC drew level in the 61st minute.
Adewala and striker, Anthony Okachi had chances in the game to get the Ikorodu side back on the lead but failed to convert their chances.
The draw means that Ikorodu FC remains in 9th position on the log with 15 points picked from 12 matches.
Reacting to the draw, a staunch Ikorodu City FC supporter, Samuel Omikola expressed his disappointment over the draw, asserting that the team had no excuse to have not picked up all three points in Lagos.
“We went to Owerri and drew there which is quite good considering away matches trend in Nigeria. But coming back to Lagos, we should have picked up three points at our home ground and that would have taken us up on the table.”
The team would now look forward to Matchday 13 where they would face eight-placed Ekiti United away from home.
